Good to see some familiar folks.
Turbo setup is moving along and just finished the oil scavenge pump install.
I have left the flies in and it runs very nice in the low end and about the time the PSI is up, if there is a flies issue, I haven't seen it.
I had a dump pipe and got 'talked' to by a local PD friend who said some of his PD buddies might not be so nice... so I phoned Harry and he put on an Area 9, 2 1/4" exhaust. I do like a quiet bike.
Having the new exhaust setup required re-routing the oil return line from the turbo to the oil pan, which made for a valley, about 1 ½ to 2" below the floor of the oil pan, in the middle of the oil return hose, as it had to go under the exhaust pipe. It was blowing blue like the movies. I pulled it up, after insulating it, right against the exhaust pipe. That helped quite a bit, but would still get blue in sudden braking and longer-steeper down hills. so the decision for the scavenge pump. Works like a champ.
Here is a pic, except it is currently 7/8" lower than this pic, as on the front end lifting up off the ground, despite the extensions being on, dropped the wheel and there was some bumping/rubbing on the front edge of the oil pump. No longer since the lowering. There is about ½ inch I can still lower it before cowl restriction.
I will insulate the whole area once the stuff arrives this week, as well as pretty up-wrap the pipe, since it is a melding of a number of pieces of stainless.
I'm currently working on another windshield to provide more space above the dash. I have it cut up and am needing the rubber nuts to bolt it back on the bike. Then will come the 3 gauge console.
I also fab'd up a new rough K-N air filter, shorty that I like, as it extends only a little beyond the body of the bike. It is about 3" shorter than the one that came with the kit and flows close to the same as the OEM kit filter. When I am done with it, it will flow more than the OEM filter, and maintain the lower profile as well.
I will take some pics once it is all done.
I also thinking about running synthetic oil.
